Push it Real Good
a York scene production, edited by Mark Zienko
<strong>What is it? - A roots-to-the-core scene DVD from ye olde town of York featuring the shocking talents of the current locals, tons of park footage from both the York Zoo park and The Works, Barcelona action and little kids killing it.
Who’s on it? - Sections from Sean Loftus, Andy Bis and Mark Zienko - along with footage from Joe Winn, Rob Clarke, Matt Black and an assortment of related types.
Highlights? - This is a well-produced glimpse into an almost hidden scene replete with some serious talent that most of you reading will have no idea about unless you regularly attend Northern skatepark events. York, despite the archaic architecture of the city centre, has always had a strong scene and ‘Push it Real Good’ is the proof.
The standard throughout is high with Andy Bis and Mark Zienko having the two main standout sections, both of which will shock those unaware of these two guys.
Andy has a Sean Smith-esque style, is super smooth, has perfect technique on every trick and looks set to go far if he keeps it up. Mark Zienko (AKA ‘Big Lad’
straight up kills whatever’s in front of him and is the sort of guy who thinks nothing of overcrooking handrails with a broken arm. True Northern grit.
As well as the main feature you get a short edit of The Works Nike demo, various road trips and a montage from the memorial ‘G-Jam’ that’s held annually at York Zoo skatepark.
Overall? - Another must-see piece for fans of top-notch UK scene DVD’s. Call Mayhem skateshop in York on 01904 655062 or go to http://www.mayhemboardstore.co.uk to get hold of a copy.
